November is National Novel Writing Month

Have you always wanted to write the "great American novel"? Now's your chance! Participate in National Novel Writing Month, also know as NaNoWriMo. The goal is write 50,000 words (about 175 pages) in 30 days (Nov.1-30). Registration is free. Tax-deductible donations are encouraged, but not required.

According to NaNoWriMo, "This year, 75,000 adult participants are expected to take part in November's challenge, and we're anticipating 8,000 kids will write books with our Young Writers Program. We're once again donating 50% of the year's net proceeds from contributions and merchandise sales to build libraries for children in Southeast Asia. With your help, by this time next year, kids throughout Vietnam will have shelves and shelves of mouth-watering new books at their schools to read and enjoy."

Registration is now open and will remain open until the end of November.
